Courses of Polish as a foreign language at levels A1+, A2+, B1, B1+, B2+, MED A2/B1 (on-site) - 2023/2024

The classes are run by the staff of the Foreign Language Centre – examiners of the Certified Examination and didactics with many years of experience. Our excellent teaching specialists, experienced methodologists who are fluent in one or two foreign languages are able to ensure the highest quality of teaching.

Description of the groups

Curriculum

Our courses are aimed at adults who want to develop their communication skills, enrich their vocabulary at a selected level and raise awareness of using Polish as a foreign language.

Knowledge gained at individual language levels:

Level A1+ (60 hours)  - Students continue the Polish language they learned in the A1 course in the winter semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. They practice the ability to communicate in typical everyday situations, as well as learn about elements of Polish art, culture, customs, geography and history. They deepen their language skills of speech comprehension, written language, intonation and accent. The course prepares students for independent study of the Polish language.   

Level A2 + (60 hours) - Students continue the Polish language they learned in the A2 course in the winter semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Students will deepen their skills in Polish grammar and practice the ability to communicate effectively, constructively and confidently in speech and writing in a variety of communication situations.

Level B1+ (60 hours) - Students continue the Polish language they learned in the B1 course in the winter semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Students are able not only to make contact to ask questions, get information, but also to join in the conversations of others. They can be an active participant in a simple discussion, they can express their intentions, thoughts and opinions in a simple way and justify them. They know how to talk about past events and future plans. The course perfectly prepares individuals to pass the certificate exam, which will take place in June 2024.

Level B2 + (60 hours) – Students continue the Polish language course, which they learned in the B2 course in the winter semester of the academic year 2023/2024. The students are able to read with comprehension excerpts from contemporary Polish literature, translate texts of press articles, and are able to undertake and actively participate in discussions not only on everyday life topics, but including specialized topics related to their interests. They are able to deliver short papers in front of an audience and answer specific questions asked. They are able to present their views and participate in formal discussions.  They know and can accurately read modern, commonly used idioms. 

Level B1 (30 hours) – Short course that prepares you to pass the certificate exam, which will take place in June 2024. Students will have the opportunity to learn all skills: listening comprehension, grammatical correctness, reading comprehension, writing and speaking. They will have the opportunity to solve sample tests, write long and short texts, repeat grammar, and take both written and oral mock exams.

Level A2/B1 MED (60 hours) – The course is aimed at foreigners planning to work in Polish health care. The aim of the course is to prepare them to communicate with the patient, the patient's family and medical staff, to use and maintain medical records, and to interview for a job.

Type of courses and frequency of classes

On-site 60-hour course - classes take place twice a week in the afternoon, they last 90 minutes and are run in the period October 2023 – February 2024.

• A1+ course - Mondays and Wednesdays 18:00-19:30

• A2+ course - Tuesdays and Thursdays 18:00-19:30

• B1+ course - Tuesdays and Thursdays 17:30-19:00

• B2+ course – Mondays and Wednesdays 17:45–19:15

• A2/B1 course – Mondays and Wednesdays 18:00–19:30

• B1  course – Monday 16:30-18:00

 

Completing the course

After completing all classes, participants receive a certificate of completion of the course. The condition is to complete the course with a minimum attendance of 70%.

• deadline: 1 March 2024 (first come, first serve basis).

Fees 

The price of the course depends on the number of people in the group (min. 6 – max. 11). In the case of 60-hour course, the fee starts from PLN 1,143 (with discounts). In the case of 30-hour course, it starts from PLN 712 (with discounts).

It is possible to pay the fee in 3 instalments.
